Providing value for money

This year our element of the council tax has been raised by £5 a year (3.2%.)

Ryan Stevens, Housing and Community Services Manager said, "Here at NFDC we are involved in delivering hundreds of services for the community.  NFDC keep 10 pence from each pound we collect and then pass the rest to Hampshire County Council, town and parish councils, and the police and fire services. This makes the amount of council tax we receive from an average band D property £163 a year, or just over £3 a week."

Cllr Barry Rickman, NFDC's Leader, said "All public services are trying to deliver more for less, and we are no different. We have had our government grants reduced and it is tough, but we are committed to protecting the services our customers care about and have managed to make savings in a way that has had the minimum impact on our residents and considers the very special needs of this very special place"
