What happens with your money

The Council provides a weekly collection of refuse and recycling to every resident.

Using the sack collection method the Council delivers both refuse and recycling sacks to resident's doors twice a year. With over 100 bring sites the Council collects glass bottles and jars, paper cans and plastics as well as shredded paper and cardboard from local collections points.

For larger items such as household goods the Council provides a chargeable bulky waste collection service which operates throughout the district. A chargeable collection is available for the collection of garden waste and has over 10,000 customers.

The Council within the Recycle for Hampshire agenda does its best to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and promotes the recycling schemes that it offers through visits and talks to local schools, community groups and interested parties.

There is also a chargeable refuse and recycling collection for commercial waste to over 1,000 businesses.
