What are the Council's contribution requirements?

The Council seeks contributions for affordable housing, open space and highways. Details of these can be found in the adopted Core Strategy and further advice on affordable housing can be found in the Advisory Note on the Implementation of Core Strategy Policy CS15. The Council is rolling out its proposals with regard to the Community Infrastructure Levy and details of its proposals are available on the Planning Policy web pages.

Open Space contributions are being reviewed and an Open Space Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) covering charges and general requirements will be released for consultation in due course. This is likely to involve meaningful increases in fees charged to cover the costs of open space and play area handovers.

Until then our charges have been amended to reflect inflation. See adobe icon Fees and Charges - Open Space Maintenance Contributions [73kb]

They are now set as follows

Open Space £72,500 per hectare

Play Areas £160 per square metre (minimum charge £2,500)
