Local Plan Part 2: Sites and Development Management
The Local Plan Part 2: Sites and Development Management sets out the detailed proposals and policies required to implement the planning strategy for the area agreed through the Core Strategy (adopted in 2009). The Plan includes the allocation of a limited amount of greenfield land for new development required to meet the local need for additional housing, affordable housing and employment land. It also provides additional development management policies to assist the implementation of the Core Strategy.
The Council submitted the Local Plan Part 2 to the Secretary of State for the process of Public Examination on 12 July 2012. Mr Simon Emerson is the Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State to conduct the Local Plan Public Examination. Hearing sessions were held in early 2013 and January 2014.
We received the Inspector's Report into the Local Plan Part 2: Sites and Development Management Development Plan Document on 17 March 2014. The Report concludes the Examination of the Plan. The Inspector has found the Plan to be 'sound' and legally compliant and capable of adoption, subject to a schedule of main modifications recommended by the Inspector to the Council. The Inspector's Report and the schedule of recommended modifications may be viewed on the Local Plan Part 2: Sites and Development Management Examination page.
On 14 April 2014 the Council adopted the Local Plan Part 2: Sites and Development Management DPD.
