Hampshire County Council's Highways West office (contact is Mark Keighley Tel: 0845 603 5633) have requested temporary road closures, on three consecutive Sundays (8th,15th and 22nd June) in order to carry out highway maintenance works. The roads in question are Meeting House Lane, The Furlong and Southampton Road. We understand that details of the order of works are not yet available. HCC will provide information boards in the affected roads to give advance notice to road users of the dates of closure.





NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) that New Forest District Council, acting as agent to the Traffic Authority, Hampshire County Council, to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road, considers that the closure to the roads as specified below should come into force without delay:‑


Those lengths of:

i) Meeting House Lane (east-west length) between its junction with The Furlong and its junction with B3347 Mansfield Road. Alternative route via Southampton Road and the Furlong

ii) Meeting House Lane between its junction with High Street and its junction with the Furlong. Alternative route via High Street, Southampton Road, B3347 and Meeting House Lane.

iii) The Furlong (north-south length) between its junction with NFDC car park access adjacent Ringwood Gateway premises and its junction with Meeting House Lane. Alternative route via Meeting House Lane, B3347 and The Furlong

iv) Southampton Road between its junction with High Street and its junction with Mansfield Road. Alternative route via B3347 and Christchurch Road

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From 8th June 2014 for a period of 21 days or until completion of works whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the closures will be required for no longer than 3 consecutive Sundays (8th, 15th and 22nd June).

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the restriction is in force including temporary suspension of No Entry and One- Way Traffic Orders.
