What are the Building Regulations

Building Regulations are legal requirements aimed at achieving adequate standards for the construction of domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. They are laid down by Parliament and are supported by separate documents containing practical and technical guidance on compliance, which are known as The Approved Documents
Building regulations are designed to ensure that buildings are erected to provide a safe and healthy environment, are energy efficient and designed to accommodate the needs of the disabled.

This is achieved by rigorous examination of submitted plans and a thorough system of site inspection during the construction process

Submitted details and work on site are inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Approved Documents that accompany the Building Regulations currently in effect.
