Application Forms

There are several types of application that can be made for Building Control purposes, each procedure has its advantages and disadvantages. The choice is normally dependent on the use of the building and complexity of the work involved. If you are unsure of which type of application to submit please contact Building Control, who will be happy to advise you further, about the different types of application.

Applications - Full Plans (available as a Word document ). This method must be used if the work affects a building in which anyone is employed.

Regularisation Applications

Please note that completed applications should be sent to Building Control, New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, Hampshire, SO43 7PA

Fees

Fees are levied depending upon the type or cost of work and the type of application. The current Scheme of Charges can be viewed at the Council Offices in Lyndhurst. Guidance notes and tables, setting out the current fees, can be obtained by clicking on the relevant links set out below.

Payments

If you wish to pay by cheque please make the cheque payable to New Forest District Council. Alternatively we will now accept payment by debit/credit card. If you wish to pay by this method please telephone 023 8028 5245 where a member of the Building Control administration team will be able to assist you.

Full Plan Applications

Require a Plan Fee when the application is deposited covering the administrative process associated with issuing the decision notice. If not approved, a re-submission of an amended scheme will be accepted without further payment.

When the work commences a second fee is payable - described as an Inspection Fee, covering payment for all the inspections made of the building work (see Inspections).

Building Notice Applications

Require a single fee on submission - the amount payable again depending upon the type of project being undertaken.

Regularisation Applications

Require a single fee on submission - the amount payable again depending upon the type of project being undertaken.
