Council supports community music education

Issued 17 February 2015

Hub certificate New Forest District Council has been commended for helping Hampshire Music Hub bring music to young people in local rural communities.

As a partner of the Hub, which is led by Hampshire County Council, NFDC has supported high quality music provision in the community.

New Forest District Council Chairman Cllr Maureen Holding received a certificate of appreciation from Area Leader Lucinda Hyland in recognition of its two year partnership with the Hampshire Music Hub.

Cllr Holding said: "The Council has always believed in supporting excellent arts provision for local people. Our partnership work with the Hampshire Music Service brings music into local rural communities so young people in particular can take part.

"The Council will continue to encourage good links between the Hub and our other professional arts organisations active in the district."

The Hampshire Music Hub Partnerships are designed to strengthen, diversify and ensure a quality music education for all young people.
