Local Plan 2016-2036 Part 1: Planning Strategy

The Local Plan Examination has been completed.

On 25 March 2020 we received the Inspectors' Report of the Examination. The Report concludes that "the New Forest District (outside the National Park) Local Plan-Part 1: Planning Strategy (the Local Plan) provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the New Forest District Council planning authority area, provided that a number of main modifications are made to it." The report appends the modifications required. The main modifications all concern matters that were discussed at the examination hearings.

Following the Cabinet meeting held on 6 May, (follow this link for the Agenda and Minutes of the meeting), it is hoped that a meeting of the full Council will be able to be held virtually on 6 July 2020 to formally consider the adoption of the Local Plan 2016-2036 Part 1, as recommended by the Cabinet.
