Make Your Cans Count this Recycle Week
Your Cans Count - that's the message from New Forest District Council this Recycle Week, which takes place between 12-18 September.
With recycling rates for the New Forest at 30%, the council has been working over the summer to bring the metal recycling message to residents with the Your Cans Count campaign at community talks and events.
Cllr Sophie Beeton, portfolio holder for the environment, said: "Research has shown that thousands of tins, cans and aerosols are ending up in the black bags instead of in the recycling. Every can really does count and we are asking people to recycle everything they can to help save energy and resources."
Residents in the New Forest can recycle their tins, cans and aerosols along with paper, cardboard and plastic bottles in their weekly clear sack recycling collection.
Schools and community groups can also take part in a recycling session with the council's recycling expert, Mandy Pickard, by contacting email@example.com
