Reward terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for the Remind Me reward scheme.

The promoter is New Forest District Council of Appletree Court, Lyndhurst, Hants, SO43 7PA ("the Council")

  1. Only  people residing in a domestic address on either a permanent or temporary basis within the New Forest District Council boundary, who are entitled to glass recycling collections from their premises are eligible for the remind and reward scheme.
     
  2. You will automatically be entered into the monthly reward draw if you register for the text message reminder service. In order to be included in the monthly reward draw, you must have registered for the text message reminder service and remain signed up to the service for as long as you wish to be entered into the draw. As soon as you cancel your subscription to the text message reminder service your name will no longer be included in the pool of potential reward draw entrants.
     
  3. 20 potential reward winners will be selected at random and we will carry out a follow up check on your glass collection box to make sure that you are still recycling the right things. You will not be entitled to a reward if your glass recycling box contains items that that cannot be taken for recycling as set out at 3.2.

    3.1 Items that we can take for recycling include Coffee jars, jam jars, wine, spirit and beer bottles, sauce jars, all colours all sizes

     3.2 Items that we can't take for recycling include: Drinking glasses, window pane glass, glass kitchenware, crockery, broken glass, light bulbs

    3.3 Rinse out then place loose in your glass box (no carrier bags or lids). Boxes must be placed in clear view by 7.00am on your collection day
     
  4. The decision regarding whether the black glass collection box contains items that can't be collected for recycling and hence is not eligible for a reward will be made by the New Forest District Council. This decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
     
  5. If any of the 20 randomly selected households are in breach of the conditions and therefore not eligible for a reward, no alternative winners will be selected.  
     
  6. Reward draw winners will be notified within 30 days of their glass box being checked.
     
  7. Reward draw winners will be able to select a reward from a choice of up to 12 different organisations. The list of organisations will be sent out in the winners pack to the reward winner within 30 days of their glass box being checked.
     
  8. Reward winners must contact the New Forest District Council to let us know which reward you would like to receive. Remittance should be within 30 days of receiving the winners pack, via email to; remind.me@nfdc.gov.uk. If you do not claim the reward within this time your claim will become invalid. The reward may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf. You cannot change or cancel your reward option after you have confirmed it.
     
  9. The reward will be sent out within 30 days of the receipt of your chosen reward.
     
  10. Whilst every effort will be made to provide the reward chosen, the New Forest District Council reserves the right to make changes to the reward menu without notice. If your chosen reward is no longer available, you will be able to select an alternative from the list.
     
  11. The reward is given in the form of a voucher, letter or other written communication, from the organisation providing the reward.
     
  12. The rewards are subject to the individual terms and conditions of the organisation providing the reward. It is the winner's responsibility to check these terms with the organisation.
     
  13. There is no cash alternative in place of the rewards listed.
     
  14. Rewards, once issued, are the responsibility of the reward winner. We will not replace any lost or damaged rewards.
     
  15. Rewards cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
     
  16. Reward winners may be required to participate in publicity connected with this recycling reward scheme. It is a condition that reward winners agree to their name and area of residence being made publicly available if they win.
     
  17. The Council reserves the right to cease the reward scheme at any point; we will give you at least 30 days notice in writing in the event of this happening.
     
  18. The Council reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions if we have a valid reason for doing so. We will give you at least 30 days' notice in writing if we are making any changes. If you are unhappy with the changes you may notify us that you no longer wish to participate in the glass reward scheme.
     
  19. The New Forest District Council is a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and takes the processing and storage of personal data seriously. The information you give us will be used by New Forest District Council Waste and Recycling service to establish glass collection timetables, send you a reminder text the day before a scheduled collection date and to send you information about changes to scheduled collections for emergency situations or public holidays. This information is not shared with any other department in the Council nor with any third parties. Please be aware that opting out of the text messaging service will not remove your data from the Council's database.   20. The Council will not be liable to compensate or refund you for any losses caused by circumstances beyond our control (i.e. the situation was abnormal or unforeseeable) for example due to extreme weather, terrorist activity or industrial action.
     
  21. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
