Register to vote in the general election by 26 November

The deadline to register so you can vote in the General Election on 12 December is midnight on Monday 26 November 2019. If you are not already registered to vote at your current address you can register online at

On Thursday 12 December voters will go to the polls to elect their Member of Parliament in the general election. Two Parliamentary Constituencies, New Forest East and New Forest West, are within New Forest District Council's area.   

If you will be unable to cast your vote in person on 12 December, you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.
Voting by post is an easy and convenient alternative to voting in person.  The deadline to apply to vote by post for the general election is 26 November 2019.  Applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by that time and date.

Proxy voting allows you to nominate someone else to cast your vote for you. The deadline for the receipt of applications to vote by proxy at the general election is 5pm on 4 December 2019.
