For instance, successful applicants of the New Enterprise Allowance are offered a business mentor for up to 52 weeks to assist in the process of setting-up a new business.

Enhanced Capital Allowances (energy and water)

Tax deduction for the full cost of purchasing certain energy-saving and water-efficient equipment -

Enterprise Ventures Growth Fund

The Fund invests between £500,000 and £1.5million in the form of equity and equity-related funding to established profitable businesses to provide growth capital and fund mergers, acquisitions and management buy-outs -

Enterprise First

New Forest District Council have partnered up with Enterprise First to allow New Forest residents 90 minutes of free one-to-one business support at either the aspiring entrepreneurs place of work or other agreed location -

Go New Forest is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) which delivers marketing and promotional support for the New Forest destination. Our area of interest is the NFDC boundary, including the New Forest National Park -

Go New Forest also manage the Go New Forest Card a unique scheme set up to support local businesses within New Forest District. New Forest Businesses can join for free simply by adding a unique offer to cardholders and in return receive many benefits including free social media promotion

WSX Enterprise has secured £1.45 million in funding to help to unemployed people from all walks of life progress from being out of work and into the future they want. They offer free support to help unemployed and out of work individuals as well as graduates develop the ideas, confidence, and skills needed to become self-employed or create a social enterprise. If you're disabled or have a physical or mental health condition that makes it hard for you to do your job, you can apply for Access to Work grant if you need extra help -

Think you could benefit from the advice and support from someone with years of experience in what you're trying to achieve? Mentor-Net team of volunteer business advisers offer mentoring services to help business owners and directors support their own development and that of their business -


National Apprenticeship Service

The National Apprenticeship Service provides information for both potential apprentices and employers. For employers the service provides information on the likely costs of taking on an apprentice, identifying a suitable training provider and information about the commitment required. -

Networking Groups

Often the best people to gain advice from are those that have experienced the decisions and situations you are encountering, and attending local networking groups can be a great place to come into contact with these type of people. Within New Forest District there is a host of local networking groups, each full of local entrepreneurs with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

To name a few - Forest Entrepreneurs (Lymington), Fore Business New Forest (Bramshaw Golf Club), Just Networking (Lyndhurst), New Biz (New Milton), Waterside Network Group (Butts Ash, Hythe). All offer a range of events from breakfasts to evening coffee meetings to expert workshop events.

New Forest Business Partnership

The New Forest Business Partnership exists to improve relations between local business and local government, promoting better business-to-business relationships, building a stronger economy and bringing greater prosperity to the local community -

New Forest Marque

Established in 2004 this scheme ensures that all produce labelled with the marque is from the New Forest. It's a way to develop and promote the production, processing and distribution of local produce from the New Forest.

In order to qualify for the marque, New Forest producers have to ensure they make their goods to the stringent quality standards outlined -



Prince's Trust

If your aged between 18 to 30-year-olds the Prince's Trust will help you turn your business idea into a reality through their Enterprise programme -



Small Employer Offer

This aims to create more job opportunities for disabled people and people with health conditions. The help on offer is varied and can include a payment of £500 to the small employer to manage any on-going needs. Solent Growth Hub

Solent LEP (which runs the Growth Hub) now covers the whole of the New Forest District geography. They offers business support on areas including but not limited to finance and funding, talent and training, business growth and international markets -

Sustainable Routes

Sustainable Routes offers a grant of £1,000 to help businesses cut travel. The grant is match-funded, and available to all SMEs in the South East of England (not London) with a turnover of at least £75,000 -

Wheels to Work

Residents of New Forest aged between 16 to 25 can take advantage of this moped loan scheme enabling people to get to work, training, an apprenticeship or interview if they have no access to private or public transport -
