Funding - Home Chargepoints

Funding is currently available towards the cost of home chargepoints for electric vehicles from the Energy Saving Trust and the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).

The typical cost for a home charge point and installation is approximately £1000.

As part of its Electric Vehicle Homecharge scheme, OLEV currently offers applicants £500 towards this cost.

The Energy Saving Trust will provide up to £500 further funding on top of this.

Funding - Businesses

In October 2016 the government committed an additional £4 million to the Plug-In Van grant scheme, which offers businesses the opportunity to receive a grant of up to £20,000 to switch their large trucks to electric vehicles.
