Privacy Notice - New Forest Enforcement Team

New Forest Enforcement Team are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  For the purpose of the 2018 General Data Protection Regulation, the data controller is New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA. Why we need to process your personal information:

  • If you have received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) we have a legal obligation to process the information you supply to us and where necessary to make contact with you.

  • If you apply for a residents parking permit, we have a legal obligation to enable us to process your application.

  • If you have contacted us and require us to reply to you, your information is needed to enable us to make contact with you

What information do we need to collect?

The information we collect includes; title, name, postal address, email address, telephone contact numbers, relevant medical history (only if applicable to an application for a permit or challenge, representation or appeal to a PCN or FPN) and, if you are paying a penalty charge or fine your debit or credit card details, your payment card details.

We will use your information to;

  • Process your challenge/representation or appeal, including if applicable, taking payment

  • Reply to your enquiry by telephone, e-mail or by letter

We may need to share your information with our service providers: Chipside. If the case remains unchallenged and unpaid, we have a legal obligation to pass case information our authorised enforcement agents. If it goes to appeal, we have a legal obligation to pass information to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal.
We WILL NOT share your information with any external party for marketing or promotional purposes.

Who has access to your information?

New Forest District Council enforcement staff, Chipside, customer services and accounts (name and payment details only), our ICT Department and where necessary by law to our authorised enforcement agents.

How long will we keep your information? - 6 years .

Information we may collect from you whilst you are using our web services

We may collect information about your computer including your IP address, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Where we store your web based personal data

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. We take every precaution to ensure data is safe and secure however we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
