The Festival runs 8 - 16 June 2019, with 30+ events and screenings around the district, many attended by actors and directors involved in the local filming industry, who will host Q&As.  

Comic Con will celebrate all things relating to pop culture and The New Forest. In collaboration with Film:New Forest, New Forest Business Partnership, All The Cool Stuff Events and New Forest District Council, the event will feature cosplayers, special guests such as Chris Rankin and James Payton (from Harry Potter) Lee Towersley (Star Wars) and a first time appearance from Ross Beadman (Star Wars) and many more plus attractions and the latest in toys, collectables and pop culture products from traders from around the UK.

There is a special horror evening at Sway Cinema on Sunday (9 June) which will show short films plus two feature films and a Q&A panel line up including Lisi Russell (Ken Russell widow), Nicholas Ball (Red Dwarf/Altered States) and Treehouse Digital's, Producer Chris Musselwhite and Director Peter Stanley-Ward plus Keith English.

Monday (10 June) sees Raya Films bringing their award winning smuggling documentary "Gentleman of the Night" and feature film "Do Something Jake" to the Malt Cinema in Lymington.

On Tuesday the award winning The More You Ignore Me will be screened at Burley Cinema with a Q&A by director Keith English.

Thursday 13 June) sees a special screening of the BBC4 documentary A Year in the Wild Wood with a Q&A from the production and film crew at Lyndhurst Community Centre plus the New Forest premiere of Dead Fred featuring Sandra Dickinson. 

On Friday (14 June)  award winning playwright Barney Norris will be at Forest Arts Centre running workshops on how to write and make short films,  plus Drive in Movies start at Holmsley and are running all weekend. Lisi Russell is also introducing Ken's film The Boy Friend at Milford on Sea Community Centre.

The Regal Cinema in Fordingbridge are screening Calendar Girls on Saturday followed by a Q&A with the locally-based cinematographer of this film, Ashley Rowe. There is also a Charity Film Quiz night in aid of Minstead Trust where £100 prize money is up for grabs.

The film festival finishes with the Wasted film competition awards evening at SpudWorks in Sway.

Our project to encourage filming in the area has partnered up with local film makers Gary Wronecki and Michael van Koetsveld, to organise the New Forest Film Festival which runs from 8 June until 16 June.  As part of the festival, head judge Mark Kermode, film critic and local resident, will be joined by a host of industry experts on the panel to judge sub-ten minute film entries.
