Ringwood Town Access Plan

The Ringwood Town Access Plan is a strategy which sets out a shared vision for how access to facilities and services within the town can be improved. It is a joint document of Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council, which has been prepared in close cooperation with Ringwood Town Council and the local community. The final version of the document was agreed for adoption at NFDC's Cabinet Meeting on 2 March 2011 and Hampshire County Council's Executive Member for Environment and Transport adopted the TAP on 5 April 2011.

The Town Access Plan (TAP) not only sets out a vision for how access to facilities and services within the town can be improved over the next 20 years, but also provides an Action Plan for investment, identifying measures already planned and also identifies longer term schemes for improvements which are necessary to accommodate future development. It will be used to help guide transport infrastructure development within Ringwood over the next 20 years.

The Ringwood Town Access Plan forms part of the Local Development Framework for New Forest District (outside the National Park). It has the status of a Supplementary Planning Document and will assist in the implementation of the adopted Core Strategy in the Ringwood area, in particular policies CS23 Strategic transport proposals and CS24 Local transport considerations (and other policies in the emerging Sites and Development Management Development Plan Document).
