Whilst I was born and educated in Southampton my wife Jan is from Somerset. We have both lived happily in the New Forest since 1960 and in the Parish of Netley Marsh since 1979. We have two grown up sons and two lovely grandchildren to spoil. I spent thirty seven years of my working life running a local plumbing and heating company in Cadnam. Shortly after my retirement in 2002 I decided to enter local politics in an effort to put something back into the community that had supported me so well for many years. I enjoy playing golf at Bramshaw and am a member of Totton & Eling Bowls club. I am also a long suffering supporter of the Saints. I have served as a Parish Councillor for Netley Marsh for ten years and am currently vice chairman. I was fortunate to be elected Club Captain at Bramshaw in 2001 and have also been a member of The New Forest Rotary Club for over thirty years. I would consider myself as a Team Player who works on the premise that Big is not necessarily beautiful. My motto is "If it's not broke then don't fix it". We are all so fortunate to live in this very unique and beautiful part of the country and must do our best to preserve its identity for those that follow. It is my intention to continue to represent the communities that supported me so well in 2003 for as long as my health permits. The Conservative Party for whom I represent has thankfully enjoyed a new lease of young life in recent times, let us hope the decisions made by all groups at both national and local levels clearly reflect the hopes and aspirations of those they are elected to serve.
I also served as Chairman of the Council for the year 2009 - 2010.
