Beach Huts

New Forest District Council manage four beach hut sites across the District. These are at Barton-on-Sea, Hordle Cliff, Milford-on-Sea and Calshot.

Beach HutsThere are approximately 850 beach huts located on these four sites.  The beach huts are privately owned but are situated on New Forest District Council land, for which an annual site rental is payable.  The current charges are revised each year.

The New Forest Beach Hut Owners' Association represents the views of beach hut owners in the District.  Contact the Beach Hut Administrator for further information about this Association.

Beach huts are a scarce commodity and it is unlikely that any further sites will become available in the future.  Beach huts make the ideal base for visits to the beach where owners can shelter from the weather but still enjoy the stunning views over the Solent.

If anyone is interested in owning a beach hut, the Communities and Employment Administration Department are occasionally informed when huts are put up for sale.
