Active Lifestyles

Having an active and healthy lifestyle can have massive benefits on both physical and mental well-being.

Active Lifestyles You can help your body by regularly taking part in physical activity.  This doesn't have to be going to the gym or sweating for an hour, physical activity is any action that increases your heart rate.  Guidelines recommend that everyone does:

5 x 30 minutes per week

That can be walking the dog, cycling to the shops, gardening, housework or a full keep fit workout.

To ensure you get the most from your healthy lifestyle, it is recommended that you eat healthily, limit your intake of fats (especially saturated fats), reduce your salt intake and drink plenty of water to keep the body functioning effectively.

Following healthy lifestyle advice can reduce your risk of getting many health problems including heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and some cancers.
