bottlesWhat happens to your plastic bottles?

Plastic bottles are collected with the rest of your recyclables which are taken to one of our Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) at Alton or Portsmouth.

The plastic bottles are then sorted from the rest of the recyclables by machinery and hand. Plastic other than plastic bottles is removed by hand to avoid any contamination.

After they have been separated and baled they are taken to Dagenham or Bolton to be made into a wide variety of products including; fleece jackets, drainage pipes, traffic cones and road signs.
