How can I dispose of large household items?
We provide a Special Collection Service for furniture, white goods and carpeting from domestic premises.
One item will cost £16.00. If you have more than one item, up to a maximum of six, it will cost £26.00
Please note that we cannot collect items such as fencing panels, gas bottles, doors, loose or bagged rubbish, garden waste or rubble. These items can be taken to a Household Waste Recycling Centre
How can I request this service?
Customer Services on 01590 646123 will be able to arrange a booking. Payment is required at the time of booking and can be done by credit/debit card. If you want to arrange a special collection and want to pay by cash or cheque you can do so by visiting one of our Local Information Offices.
You will be informed of your collection day at the time of booking.
General points to follow:
The Collection Crew are not permitted to enter your home to pick up items. Please ensure all items for collection are placed in an easily accessible space outside.
- Please empty items of other rubbish
- If there are two identical items on site, but only one was requested, neither item will be taken.
- Only items listed will be removed, any additional items should be made on another request.
- Carpet should not be more than 6ft length. If it is longer than this, please cut it into smaller pieces and roll it together. Underlay is counted as a separate item.
