Responsible for providing a range of services related to the management and maintenance of the council's land and property portfolio; as well as providing the centralised procurement function for the organization. Including:
Estates and Valuation - management of the council's land and property interests such as: leases, licences, rights of access, boundary disputes, unauthorized entry on to and possession of land.
Property Services - management and maintenance of the public buildings and other property assets, delivery of the planned maintenance programme to the Council's 5000 housing stock, energy efficiency, site management and public office cleaning.
Building Maintenance - reactive and planned maintenance work on social housing and public buildings with a team of directly employed tradesmen and gas engineers
Engineering Design - design and project management of civil engineering schemes for internal and external (HCC) clients. The land drainage section within this unit deals with flood related issues and works to reduce flood risk in the district.
Central Purchasing and Stores - this unit provides specialist purchasing expertise for all service requirements, it manages the payment of all the council's bills, and offers a centralised stores service for frequently used items across a range of service areas.
