Easy Going Walks In The Forest
In Summer 2009, members of New Forest Access For All, armed with a GPS, measuring levels, an altimeter, a clipboard and a flask of coffee, started to survey and map some of the most popular walks in the New Forest National Park.
Members recorded gradients, cross-falls and surface conditions so that anyone using the maps should know what to expect from the trail. Details of on-site facilities such as disabled parking, toilets, seats and information points are also included with additional comments to help you enjoy your day out.
The location of the walks surveyed so far are available on the groups website, and downloads for the individual maps and their accompanying notes are available at NFAFA - http://newforestaccessforall.org.uk/
Community Toilet Scheme
New Forest Access for All and the New Forest National Park Authority have been working with local businesses to develop a community toilet scheme. Businesses who are part of the scheme allow visitors to use their toilet facilities without needing to buy anything, making it easier for people with mobility difficulties to explore the New Forest.
