Climate change adaptation
Climate change is the changes in average weather conditions of a place over a long period of time. New Forest District council declared a Climate Change and Nature Emergency in 2021, subsequently a Climate and Nature Emergency Report and Action Plan was developed.
Climate change adaptation refers the measures that are needed to best prepare for the likely impacts that climate change will bring. Adaptation measures include making changes and adjustments to processes, systems, practices and structures.
The purpose of climate change adaptation is to protect and safeguard future generations of people and the environment they live in. Adapting to climate change will make us more resilient to the impact it will bring.
